we need the eggs 2003-06-10 - 1:53 a.m. i just watched 'annie hall' for the first time. i also ate vegetable chips for the first time earlier today. i found both immensely satisfying. we need the eggs. good ending lines always stick with me, and that line's been running through my head ever since the film ended just a few minutes ago. that and the melody of 'thimble island,' my current favourite track from the latest rasputina album. i listen to the song over and over and over again, as you tend to do when experiencing a really great song for the first time. earlier today moo bellowed from the other room, 'how many times do we have to hear that song?' i yelled back, 'but i thought you liked it!' to which she replied, 'i liked it the first two times. now we're on number eight!' i half-heartedly yelled something about not realizing that i put the cd player on repeat and being too busy at the moment to change it, which was a lie on both counts. i promised to change it after just one more time, then proceeded to continue writing the previous entry to two more rounds of the song before actually getting out of my seat and going into the bedroom to change the track and player mode. i like to play music loudly in other rooms when i'm typing, as one might have gathered from the narration of this incident. the song is only two minutes and forty-one seconds long, which is a bittersweet curse: it's so short that i'm left craving more, yet it will never drift into the obscurity of droning on for far too long. i find that i tend to carry around love for short songs for much longer periods than for the longer songs, no matter how brilliant. it's such a tease, and i'm an addict to the tease, the promise of more. that's something else that one might glean from earlier entries. i can be happy with less as long as i have the promise of more. eee-vil, like the fru-its of the de-vil, eee-vil - 2004-10-02 your cadaverous smile - 2004-10-02 waffles, forthwith - 2004-09-20 johnny wants pussy and cars - 2004-09-17 background artwork by teddy kristiansen, designed by me, hosted by d-land. © 2001-2003 |
